The Bitcoin price has been on a steady upward trajectory since last September, when it hit $2,700.
On Monday, it touched $4,000.
On Tuesday, it reached $5,500.
On Wednesday, it crossed $6,000, and on Thursday, it hit its all-time high at $7,000 a coin.
On Friday, it settled at $6.85, according for BTC/USD, which was at $750.
Bitcoin is not just a currency, but also a virtual currency that can be used to buy and sell goods and services on the open market.
Bitcoin is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, behind only the Ethereum.
